7. John Brown Farm – North Elba, NY

Just outside of Lake Placid, NY, John Brown Farm is a National Historic Landmark and New York Historic Site. It is the burial site John Brown, a well-known abolitionist and conductor of the Underground Railroad. Under Brown’s plan, he planned to establish the farm to relocate poor black men and offer them assistance. Unfortunately, Brown was hung in Virginia in 1859 for planning a campaign to liberate slaves. (78 miles from Antigua)

9. The Adirondack Wildlife Refuge and Rehabilitation Center – Wilmington, NY
